How slatehorna Came to Be

slatehorna grew out of a straightforward observation: operations teams in Malaysia often know where their processes are struggling, but rarely have the time or outside perspective to address it in a structured way. Day-to-day pressures leave little room for stepping back.

We started this practice in Johor Bahru because the southern corridor — with its proximity to Singapore, its active manufacturing base and its developing logistics infrastructure — presented exactly the kind of environment where focused advisory work could make a practical difference.

Our approach is deliberate. We observe before we conclude. We engage with the people doing the work. And we produce output that your team can actually use, without requiring specialist interpretation.

Zulkarnain bin Rashid

Principal Advisor

Background in distribution and warehousing across Johor and Selangor. Leads client engagements and flow mapping work. Particularly familiar with the challenges facing mid-sized distributors moving into higher volume operations.

Nurul Ain binti Kamarudin

Operations Analyst

Focused on data review, supplier coordination analysis and documentation. Works closely with client operations teams to gather accurate information during studies and advisory partnerships.

Lim Wei Xiang

Logistics Process Consultant

Specialises in inbound logistics, third-party carrier coordination and inventory flow. Has worked with manufacturers in the Iskandar region and brings practical knowledge of the local freight landscape.

How We Conduct Our Work

Written Output, Every Time

All findings, recommendations and working notes are delivered in writing. Verbal-only feedback has no lasting value in an operational context.

Confidential by Default

Client information — operational data, supplier relationships, financial figures — is treated as confidential and not shared outside the engagement without consent.

Honest Assessment

We report what we find, including where an issue may be more significant than initially presented. Softening findings to preserve goodwill is not something we do.

Delivery on Schedule

Scope and timelines are agreed before work begins. If something changes, we communicate that promptly rather than allowing a deadline to quietly pass.

No Unnecessary Complexity

Output is sized to the engagement. A two-week snapshot does not need a fifty-page report. We write as much as the situation requires and no more.

Accessible Throughout
